Welcome to Purple Camas Farm. We are the Moelhman’s, Ann, Kasey & John. We are located in the small town of Rainier, WA.
At Purple Camas Farm, we raise a wide variety of goats for milk, meat & fiber. Our herd consists of:
The African Dairy Breed, Nigerian Dwarf
The Swiss Dairy Breed, Toggenburg
The Middle Eastern Europe Fiber Breed, Angora
The African Meat Breed, Boer.
We show at the local level (WA & OR) and attended our 1st ADGA Nationals in 2009.
Kasey has been involved with 4-H since she was 9 & added FFA upon entering High School. Kasey started out wanting two Nigerian Dwarf wethers from the neighbors and look at our goat farm now!
Our goal is to produce a goat strong in breed type that can be a great addition to your family for breeding as well as for the show ring. With the Dairy Goats, we participate in Linier Appraisal and DHIA to assist us in making better decisions for our breeding program.
The Nigerians have been our primary breed. Other breed types of goats have entered the farm as we explored the world of goats through 4-H.
On site are 5 Nigerian Dwarf bucks, 1 Toggenburg buck & a newly purchased Boer buck that are open for use to proven clean herds.
We test annually for CAE & CL. As we are preparing for a future Grade A Dairy , we added Brucilosis & Johnies in 2010 for general screening purposes.
Purple Camas Farm is located in the prairie of Mt. Rainier. We have close access to the I-5 corridor, 15 miles from the state capital of Olympia & an hour from Seattle.
